Women have been expected to imitate the trends of beauty throughout history. Ironically, a body shape that could be perceived as big today would have been perfect in a different time or culture, and lips that have gone through so much pain to be artificially inflated – because today big lips considered to be sexy.
Make-up has contributed to our idea of ourselves. Happily ‘beauty’ is no longer a credential given solely to those in possession of a perfect set of classic features. Many of today’s icons, be it Jemima Khan, late Diana or Bipasha Basu, to name a few, have interesting or unusual features which combine with an inner confidence to make them stand out from the crowd.
Make-up is best used, and often used best, not to change us but to enhance who we already are. There is no denying it that great make-up looks even better on beautiful skin. So when it comes to your complexion, cleanliness should be next to goodliness.
